Increasing Capital for Underserved Communities
In addition to making grant funds available to our community partners, we also work to establish larger pools of capital for those who have been historically underserved. Our Community Investments are below-market interest rate loans to nonprofit organizations that are working to improve the health and quality of life in their communities.
Dignity Health borrowers develop community facilities such as child care and community clinics, affordable housing for low-income families and seniors, job training for the unemployed or underemployed, and health care services for low-income and minority neighborhoods. Since 1992 we have invested more than $88.1 million in 185 nonprofit organizations.
