Clinical Education

Memorial Hospital offers a number of educational classes and seminars for our staff.

ACLS

The ACLS provider course is designed to teach you the lifesaving skills required to be both a team member and a team leader in either and in-hospital or out of hospital setting. Because the ACLS provider course covers extensive material in a short time, you will need to prepare for the course beforehand.

Cost is free for employees and not available for community members.

BLS

The BLS for Health Care Providers Course is designed to train you in the lifesaving skills of both CPR and relief of choking. The class covers a great deal of material in a relatively short time and advance preparation is required.

At the end of the BLS for Health Care Providers Course students will be able to describe:

  • The steps of CPR
  • The signs and actions for severe airway obstruction in the responsive and unresponsive victim and when to use an AED
  • The signs of four common life-threatening emergencies in adults – cardiac arrest, choking, heart attack and stroke
  • Cost is free for employees and $60 for community members. Payment is cash only.
