We Care about Maternity Care

It's time to welcome your new bundle of joy. Memorial Hospital has been providing care for moms and new babies for decades, delivering more than 3,000 babies every year. But we still treat every birth like it's a unique experience. Because each is one of our Miracles on 34th Street.

Babies Are Our Business

At Memorial Hospital, we work closely with you to make giving birth here safe and comfortable. We feature large, modern birthing suites where state-of-the-art equipment is balanced with home-like features, including a comfortable place for dad or other family members to rest. In August 2017, Memorial Hospital procured wireless fetal monitoring for mothers so you can shower or walk around the unit while in labor. The unit also has peanut balls to help mothers labor more effectively, and a children’s healing garden, complete with fountains and animal topiaries, near the Labor and Delivery unit to keep siblings happy.

Our obstetrical (OB) physicians are onsite 24/7 to manage emergencies and consult with a physician on your behalf in your absence. We also care for mothers-to-be who have no chosen obstetrician.  Regardless of delivery method (vaginal or C-section), if your baby is healthy, you'll be provided with one hour of uninterrupted skin-to-skin contact and bonding time with your newborn.

Virtual Tour

The Memorial Hospital Family Birth Center Virtual Tour offers a convenient preview of our facility, including:

  • The comfort and convenience of having the same suite for labor, delivery, and recovery
  • Private postpartum rooms with sleeping accommodations for support person
  • Private bathrooms with shower

Your Newborn

Caring for a newborn can be overwhelming, so we place an emphasis on parenting classes and education. Whether you’re a first time mom or a mother of many, our nurses work individually with you teaching baby care, breastfeeding and providing on-going support to ensure success.

When Your Baby Needs Extra Care

If your baby is born prematurely or with a serious illness, we have a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) just steps away. There, specially trained NICU doctors and nurses use state-of-the-art equipment to care for every need of the tiniest of newborns. Take a tour of our facility on 34th Street to see for yourself what a difference Memorial Hospital can make when you’re giving birth. Find out for yourself why our baby program is known as Miracles on 34th Street.

Designated Baby-Friendly

Memorial Hospital has been designated a Baby-Friendly Hospital, the highest accreditation for birth centers.

Safe Sleep Certification

Each year in the United States, thousands of babies die suddenly and unexpectedly. These deaths are called SUID (pronounced Soo-id), which stands for “Sudden Unexpected Infant Death.” What does an infant safe sleeping environment look like?

My Baby App

You’re taking the right steps towards a healthy pregnancy. We understand the value that comes with good advice during this time — rest assured that my baby. will help you through every symptom, sign, and step along the way.

This rating focuses on uncomplicated pregnancies and may not apply to high-risk pregnancies, such as patients with diabetes or who are pregnant with twins. Patients should ask their provider if their pregnancy is high risk.
