Measuring Heart Activity And Blood Flow To Pinpoint Specific Cardiovascular Issues
Cardiac catheterization is a diagnostic and therapeutic procedure that allows cardiologists to study the heart and surrounding blood vessels. Performed by inserting one of more thin, flexible tubes (catheters) through a peripheral blood vessel in the arm or leg, the procedure can record blood flow, calculate cardiac output, evaluate the heart's electrical activity, and more.
The Cath Labs at our Center for Heart Health are fully equipped with advanced monitoring systems supporting one of the most progressive diagnostic and interventional programs in Southern California for heart and cardiovascular care.
To meet the increasing demand for catheterization procedures, the Los Angeles Center for Heart Health includes two Cath Labs staffed with specially trained nurses and technicians, who work closely with our team of cardiologists to provide a safe and successful procedure.
