California Hospital’s Dr. Anthony Pickett was featured on KNX 1070 AM in a story on birth defects in light of National Birth Defects Prevention Month. According to the CDC, because half of all pregnancies in the United States are not planned, all women who can become pregnant should take a vitamin with folic acid every day

Meningitis Reports in Southern California
On February 13, it was reported in the news that a third-grade teacher passed away due to meningitis. KABC Channel 7 Health Reporter Denise Dador interviewed California Hospital’s Suman Radhakrishna, M.D, medical committee chair of infectious disease, about how the disease spreads, and the availability of vaccination. Dr. Radhakrishna was also interviewed on KNX News 1070 AM earlier that morning.

  



Dr. Faye Lee Radio Interview
KNX 1070 AM interviewed Faye Lee, MD, medical director of cardiac services at California Hospital about the physical effects of broken heart syndrome, given the recent news coverage surrounding Debbie Reynolds’ passing. Dr. Lee spoke about how sudden tragedy can have a physical effect on the heart, and although most recover, symptoms should not be ignored.
