Safety & Security

The safety and security of all patients, visitors and staff is very important to us.

Security officers may ask to inspect bags, purses, or containers being brought into the hospital. Visitors may be asked to sign in, wear a name tag, or disclose their purpose for visiting the hospital.

Chandler Regional staff must wear visible ID badges at all times. If you do not see an ID badge on your caregiver or any one who enters your room, we encourage you to ask that person to identify themselves by giving you their name and in which department they work. If at any time you feel as though your safety or the safety of others is at risk please contact your nurse immediately.

For security issues, lost and found, courtesy escorts, we ask you to call extension 8-3758 from any hospital phone or (480) 728-3758 from outside the hospital.

Balloons
Latex allergies can pose a serious health risk for our patients, employees and volunteers. For everyone's safety, we kindly ask that you do not bring latex balloons into the hospital.

Fire and Disaster Drills
For your protection, Chandler Regional conducts regular fire and disaster drills. If a drill occurs during your stay in the hospital, please remain in your room and do not become alarmed. The hospital staff will assist you.

Medications
All medications you take while in the hospital are prescribed by your doctor, dispensed by the hospital pharmacy and administered by a nurse. Patients are not permitted to keep their own drugs or keep personal medications, including vitamins, herbs or nutritional supplements, at their bedsides unless specifically ordered by their doctor.

Personal Belongings
Please bring only essential items such as a robe, slippers and personal care items and no more than $5 cash. Please do not bring jewelry, wallets or electrical appliances. We recommend that arrangements be made to have wheelchairs, walkers and canes returned to your home during your hospitalization.

Smoking
Because we care about your health and the health of others, no smoking is allowed on Chandler Regional's campus which includes the parking lot.

Wheelchairs
Wheelchairs are available on all nursing units, but getting in and out of them without assistance may be hazardous. Please ask for help from a member of the hospital staff.
