If you or a loved one is suffering from coronary artery or heart disease, knowing you have one place to go can help alleviate worry. At Mark Twain Heart Center, we provide access to quality heart care, delivered by board- certified cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons, all with the goal to keep your heart beating strong.
Heart and Vascular Diagnostic Testing
We use several methods to diagnose your heart health.
- Cardiac stress tests. These tests provide important information about your exercise capacity and can tell about future risk of heart disease and/or the severity of heart disease.
- Echocardiogram. This is an ultrasound picture of your heart.
- Electrocardiogram, also called an EKG or ECG. This is a safe and painless test that records electrical impulses normally produced by the heart.
- Holter and event monitors. These are similar to an EKG, though are connected longer, and monitor your heart rhythm.
Proper testing can help us identify and address heart disease and can help prevent a heart attack or stroke in the future. We can also diagnose congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, and other cardiovascular problems. And we focus on the special characteristics of heart disease in women.
