About Our Behavioral Health Department
Mercy Medical Group's Behavioral Health Department offers confidential counseling and psychiatric care for medically necessary services covered through patients' medical insurance. The Mental Health Parity Act (A.B. 88) provides for expanded mental health coverage for patients with some serious mental illnesses. Mercy Medical Group provides confidential and high-quality counseling and psychiatry services to individuals, families, adolescents and children. Mercy Medical Group also offers a comprehensive Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
Two Children's Centers under contract with Sacramento County offer special expertise in counseling and psychiatry for children who are Medi-Cal -eligible. For information about the Children’s Centers that accept patients with Medi-Cal, click here:
Our Behavioral Health Department is able to see patients who have a Mercy Medical Group provider and who have any of the following mental health insurances:

How to Schedule an Appointment
To be seen by a Mercy Medical Group Behavioral Health provider, you need to have an MMG doctor, but you do not need a Primary Care Physician referral.
