This class is recommended for new moms and for women in the 2nd and 3rd trimester of pregnancy. This class will discuss a variety of topics: common issues about latch-on techniques, avoiding sore nipples, returning to work or school, and expressing and storing breast milk. If you are a new mom, you are encouraged to bring your newborn to the class. Dads/partners are also welcome.

This 3-week series of 2-hour classes helps prepare women and their partners for the labor and birth experience. The class covers topics from pregnancy to birth and postpartum with an emphasis on options for labor and delivery and coping strategies for pain management.
This class also includes preparation for Cesarean and a tour of the Maternity floor. This tour of the Maternity Center at Mercy Medical Center will give you the opportunity to see firsthand our labor and delivery rooms, nursery and postpartum areas, and to ask any questions about obstetric services and programs we offer.
Note: For the skills practice portion of class, expectant moms are encouraged to bring a pillow and blanket to the Childbirth Preparation classes.
A Childbirth Preparation class designed for those who live or work out of town or cannot commit to a series of classes. The "all-day" session from 8 am to 5 pm will immerse both the expectant mother and her partner in an intensive that includes classroom work, skills practice, interaction and a maternity tour experience. Plan on a one-hour lunch/snack time on your own. For dates and times, please see reverse side.
Plan ahead and enroll in a Childbirth Preparation Class during your 4th or 5th month of pregnancy. Classes fill up quickly.
The Childbirth Preparation class is offered on Wednesday evenings or in an “all-day” Saturday format.
Online Childbirth Education
We are now offering free Online Childbirth Preparation classes. Nothing can replace the warmth and personal connection you and your partner would feel in an in-person classroom environment. However, many couples find it hard to fit a series of classes into their schedules. This online program allows you to learn at your own pace and convenience.
