St. John's to Offer Free Pre-Diabetes and Diabetes Management Program

St. John's Regional Medical Center (SJRMC), a Dignity Health hospital, is pleased to announce, Hello Health: Living Well with Diabetes, a self-management program tailored to provide education and resources to those living with the disease.

This free, six-month program, offered in English and Spanish, is designed to provide individuals living with diabetes and pre-diabetes with the tools to better manage the disease. The program begins on Saturday, October 8, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the SJRMC Conference Center (1600 N. Rose Ave. in Oxnard). During this first meeting, participants will receive in-depth detail about the program sessions and corresponding dates.

Enrollment in the Hello Health: Living Well with Diabetes will cover the following topics:

  • Diabetes Education and Empowerment Program
  • Diabetes basics
  • Self-testing blood sugar
  • Meal planning
  • Stress management
  • Weight management
  • Increasing physical activity
  • Preventing complications
  • Improving relationship with health care team
