KCRA 3 aired a story on May 14 about the issue of mental health patients showing up at local emergency departments. Reporter Claire Doan featured Mercy San Juan Medical Center’s use of a wireless remote telehealth robot to connect a psychiatrist remotely to mental health patients in the ED. She interviewed Dr. Seth Thomas, medical director of Mercy San Juan’s emergency department.
