Pediatricians conduct Teddy Bear Clinic during the Great Kindness Challenge
From January 25 to January 29, students nationwide will be challenged to complete a checklist of 50 kind deeds and to make kindness a habit. This national movement is dedicated to help create a culture of kindness in young people. As a believer that kindness is a healing force and that humankindness in society, as well as in the hospital and clinic setting, leads to a happier and healthier community, Dignity Health is a proud presenting sponsor and active participant.
Teddy Bear Clinic
On Monday, January 25, Dignity Health Mercy San Juan Medical Center and Mercy Medical Group, a service of Dignity Health Medical Foundation, sponsored a teddy bear clinic to show younger children the importance of kindness and encourage them to not be afraid of the doctor. The children brought their favorite stuffed furry friends to get a “check-up” from friendly and kind physicians.
The event, at the Childtime Learning Center in Roseville, featured 3 to 5-year-olds and Mercy Medical Group Pediatricians, Jill Walsh, MD; Danton Kono, MD, and Mac Wayment, MD.
