Mercy San Juan’s Perinatal Certification

Trust your pregnancy and delivery to Mercy San Juan Medical Center's Family Birth Center—the first hospital on the West Coast to receive the Joint Commission's Perinatal Care Certification. To achieve this, a hospital must demonstrate coordinated patient-centered care from prenatal to postpartum phases. It must identify and manage risks early. It must have an ongoing quality improvement process. We do these things and more.

We are equipped for all levels of delivery, from normal pregnancies to high risk ones. We practice "gentle birth" options, including maintaining mobility while in labor. One valuable feature of the Family Birth Center is our Level Ill neonatal intensive care unit. In the event of a premature or high risk birth, our neonatologists are ready to care for the tiniest of newborns, because we want yours to be the safest birthing experience possible.
