Hand Therapy Clinic
The Hand Therapy Clinic specializes in rehabilitation of traumatic hand injury, post-surgical and repetitive strain injuries of the hand and upper extremity. Our clinic employs certified hand therapists and specialty-trained physical and occupational therapists that are committed to delivering individualized comprehensive evaluation and treatment. Our team utilizes a variety of modalities and techniques to maximize function and motion to the upper extremity.
Occupational therapy services include initial evaluations to determine outcome goals, a patient-centered treatment plan to improve performance of daily activities, and ongoing reassessments to ensure goals are being met. Using everyday activities as therapy, occupational therapists treat adults with disease- or injury-related disabilities that compromise their functional independence. Patients are seen both at the inpatient and outpatient level.
Lymphedema is a chronic condition causing abnormal swelling in the body, most commonly in the arms or legs. It is usually caused by the removal of or damage to lymph nodes as a part of cancer treatment. Lymphedema results from a blockage in the lymphatic system that prevents lymph fluid from draining properly. Unmanaged lymphedema can result in progressive swelling, pain, loss of range of motion, and decreased limb function. With help from our specially-skilled therapists, lymphedema can be managed.
Our experienced speech-language pathologists, also known as speech therapists, provide individualized, comprehensive care for adults and children with communication or swallowing difficulties. The speech therapist evaluates and assesses each patient’s individual needs designing a program to improve or to rehabilitate speech articulation, fluency, voice, language expression, language comprehension, cognition, and/or swallow function. Patients are seen both at the inpatient and outpatient level.
Neurological Therapy Program
The Neurological Therapy Program provides comprehensive rehabilitation care for individuals who have experienced a neurological accident such as stroke, head trauma or brain injury, or persons who have been diagnosed with a neurological disease such as Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis or vestibular disorders.
