Balloon Sinuplasty

If you are not responding well to medication, surgery may be an option. There is now a less invasive option to treat chronic sinusitis: Balloon Sinuplasty.

Balloon Sinuplasty is clinically proven to be safe and effective and to improve the quality of your life. More than 150,000 patients have already safely experienced this procedure.

How Balloon Sinuplasty Works

With Balloon Sinuplasty, your otolaryngologist opens inflamed sinuses in the same way that heart surgeons open up blocked arteries during balloon angioplasty. There is less pain and recovery time and a speedier return to your normal activities because, unlike conventional sinus surgery, there is no removal of bone or tissue from the nose.

The procedure uses a small, flexible, balloon catheter to open up blocked sinus passageways and facilitate drainage of the mucus that builds up from chronic sinusitis. When the sinus balloon is inflated, it restructures and widens the walls of the sinus passageway while maintaining the integrity of the sinus lining.
