Friends of Seniors

St. Joseph's Friends of Seniors Program offers friendly assistance to seniors in our community, free of charge, to help them maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life.

About Our Program

St. Joseph’s Friends of Seniors Program is comprised of compassionate volunteers dedicated to providing a helping hand to seniors in our community. Volunteers offer friendly visiting, resources, and referrals to assist seniors aged 60 or older who live at home, including transportation to medical appointments, shopping and errands. All services are provided free of charge.

If you're thinking of requesting services or signing up to volunteer, we invite you to check out these stories from a few of our volunteers.

Request Services

If you are a senior, or if you’d like to request services on behalf of a senior, please contact us us by calling 209-461-5112, or emailing [email protected]. Our office hours are Monday - Friday, 8 am to 4 pm. Family members, friends, and social service agencies are also welcomed to call.

Get Involved

Being a blessing to others does not require a lot of time. Just a few hours per month helps ensure that vulnerable seniors in our community are not alone and can help us meet the growing demand for this resource. Our specially trained volunteers are generous, caring people of all ages who share a passion for helping others. They enjoy partaking in the wisdom of seniors and have a genuine concern for the challenges seniors face. If you’d like to learn more about becoming a Friends of Seniors volunteer, or if you’d like to make a tax-deductible gift to help support this program, please call 209-461-5112.
