Emergency Care For Your Heart

When someone is having a heart attack, time is of the essence. St. Joseph’s STEMI Team is a collective group of staff and doctors in the Emergency Department and Cardiac Catheterization Lab that mobilize quickly at the first sign of heart attack patient’s arrival.

Patients are rapidly transported from the Emergency Department to our Cardiac Catheterization Lab for definitive heart muscle-saving treatment.

St. Joseph’s Medical Center has been awarded STEMI Center Designation from San Joaquin County Emergency Medical Services for meeting and exceeding national standards in diagnosing and treating heart attacks quickly. This prestigious designation means our staff are specially equipped and trained to care for patients experiencing an ST-elevated myocardial infarction (STEMI) heart attack, which is caused by a sudden, total blockage of a coronary artery.
