General Surgery Residency
The Creighton University Arizona Health Education Alliance General Surgery Residency Program carries on St. Joseph’s longstanding history of surgical education.

Our collaborative, comprehensive general surgery residency program has teaching faculty with expertise in multiple aspects of general surgery including:

  • trauma
  • surgical critical care
  • oncology
  • endocrine
  • vascular surgery
  • transplantation

Several individuals have additional expertise in advanced laparoscopy. 

Over 3,200 general surgical procedures are performed at the primary training site, St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in central Phoenix, Arizona. St. Joseph's has developed a surgical simulation laboratory for education purposes.
