STEMI Heart Attack

A heart attack can happen anytime, anywhere. As a designated STEMI center, St. Mary Medical Center is here should you or a loved one need fast and expert heart care.

Emergency Heart Care You Can Count On

For many individuals, the first sign of heart disease begins with a heart attack. Our complete heart care program begins the second you enter our emergency room, where we quickly assess your condition.

If you're experiencing symptoms of a heart attack, call 9-1-1.

If intervention is necessary, you'll immediately go to our cardiac catheterization lab for angioplasty, where a small balloon is placed and inflated to open blocked heart arteries. The American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association recommends a less than 90 minute door-to-balloon time.

St. Mary Medical Center is an official ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction, or STEMI heart attack center. Designated by the Los Angeles County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Agency, the hospital is specially-equipped and our staff is skillfully trained to diagnose and treat the type of significant heart attack caused by a major coronary artery blockage. It requires a quick response and specialty treatment.
