Woodland Memorial Hospital Visiting Hours and Guidelines

To view the current visiting policy for Woodland Memorial Hospital, click here.

Visitors chosen by the patient or their representative are welcomed at Woodland Memorial Hospital and will be allowed to enjoy full and equal visitation privileges consistent with the wishes of the patient. You may designate an individual to be with you for emotional support during the course of your stay, unless the individual's presence infringes on others' rights, safety, or is medically or therapeutically contraindicated. Children should be supervised by a responsible adult when they come visit you.

Visitors may be restricted from entering your room or asked to leave for specific medically appropriate circumstances (care interventions), patient safety, infection control, and/org confidentiality reasons determined by the primary care fiver. Our primary concern is for your care. We may ask your visitors to leave if we feel you need more rest.

In the Family Birthing Center, the hour after delivery and/or surgery is considered the "Golden Hour", no visitors, with exception of infant parent(s), will be allowed during this time, to allow for safe recovery and maternal/child bonding. This is part of our "Baby Friendly" Initiative. We highly recommend that no visiting is encouraged and the infant is kept skin to skin with mother for the first four hours, per patient preference.

The Inpatient Mental Health Unit has special policies for visitations; please ask the staff for more information in regards to this department.

The front door of the hospital is closed and locked at 8 p.m. daily. Visitors and others may exit through these doors, but all incoming individuals are directed to the Outpatient/Emergency Services door located on the north side of the hospital.

Masking

Masks are not required for staff, patients, or visitors, with the following exceptions:

  • Masks are required for patients, staff and visitors in respiratory/droplet/airborne isolation areas.
  • Visitors and patients are encouraged to wear masks if they are experiencing symptoms of respiratory illness.

Thank you for your continued support to keep our community safe and healthy.
