Cancer Care

The process of diagnosing and treating cancer with the most advanced tests and technology is something at which the Cancer Center at St Mary’s excels. But we are also experts at knowing you and your family so that we know what’s best for your lifestyle. And we remain by your side throughout the entire process.

Treating Cancer By Knowing You

At the Cancer Center, our oncologists work directly with surgeons, researchers, oncology nurses, pathologists, pharmacists and therapists who all have vast experience in the field of cancer care. Known for providing progressive, personalized and compassionate care, we offer a full range of options to treat your cancer, including surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

We treat all types of cancer, including:

  • Breast cancer
  • Cervical cancer
  • Colon cancer
  • Lung cancer
  • Melanoma
  • Ovarian cancer
  • Pancreatic cancer
  • Prostate cancer
  • Skin cancer

Cancer Services

Our services include genetic counseling, infusion, integrative therapies and radiation oncology. We use MRIs and CT scans to help with a diagnosis.

Clinical Trials are made available depending on your condition and diagnosis. These oncology trials are designed to test new ways to:

  • Find and diagnose cancer
  • Manage symptoms of cancer or side effects from its treatment
  • Prevent cancer
  • Treat cancer

Through clinical trials, our researchers are able to determine whether new treatments are safe, effective and work better than current treatments.

CyberKnife is also available. This non-invasive alternative to surgery treats both cancerous and non-cancerous tumors anywhere in the body. The treatment, which is painless, delivers high-dose radiation beams to tumors with extreme accuracy. CyberKnife is located in San Francisco at our sister hospital, Saint Francis.

Cancer Clinics

Inside our different clinics you’ll find the care you need, all dedicated to your particular diagnosis. Our centers within the Cancer Center provide advanced protocols, and compassionate care.

Genetic Counseling

Genetic counseling can help determine if you carry specific gene markers that might make you more at risk for developing certain cancers. The BRCA gene, for instance, can help detect your risk for breast cancer. The Cancer Center at St. Mary’s Medical Center combines expert genetic counseling with access to the latest genetic tests.
