Welcome Dr. Moore - New Trauma Director

Chandler Regional welcomes Forrest “Dell” Moore M.D., F.A.C.S., as the hospital’s new trauma medical director. Dr. Moore will join Chandler Regional Aug. 19, advancing the hospital’s efforts in becoming a Level I Trauma Center in the spring of 2014.

The addition of Dr. Moore is an essential step in advancing Chandler Regional’s trauma program. The trauma medical director position is required for the State Level I trauma designation and allows the preparatory work regarding physician subspecialty coverage, staff training and education, and the finalizing of policies and procedures to continue.

“I’m looking forward to contributing to the development of Chandler Regional’s Level I trauma program,” said Dr. Moore. “The Southeast Valley is in desperate need of necessary life-saving services to ensure patients can be treated within the golden hour after an injury.”

Dr. Moore is no stranger to Dignity Health. He spent four years with St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix as the Director of Surgical and Trauma Critical Care and as a faculty member for the General Surgery Residency Program.

“We are pleased to have Dr. Moore lead our efforts to become a designated Level I trauma center,” said Tim Bricker, President and CEO of Chandler Regional and Mercy Gilbert Medical Centers.  “His extensive knowledge and experience in the field of critical care and trauma will be valuable attributes to our attestation to the State.”

Dr. Moore attended medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed his surgical internship at the University of Kentucky.  He fulfilled his residency and trauma/surgical critical care fellowship with the Christiana Care Health System in Wilmington, Del. Dr. Moore is board certified in both critical care surgery and general surgery.

Dr. Moore is the vice-chair of the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma for Arizona.  He is also an author, editor and contributor to many publications and studies on surgical care, emergency surgery and trauma.
