Depending on the type of procedure, your Mercy Gilbert surgeon may have you undergo some basic pre-surgical testing:
Blood tests: Examine your overall health and check for signs of infection. Blood draws may also be used to determine how a specific organ in your body is functioning.
Body scans or imaging: X-rays, CT scans or MRI may be done so your surgeon can better review the specific area of the body prior to surgery.
Your surgeon will write a prescription or send orders for all of your pre-surgery testing. All pre-surgical testing must be complete 48 hours prior to your surgery, unless your doctor has other specific directions.
You may have your testing done at any Dignity Health facility convenient for you, no appointment is necessary.
