Julie Ward is Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President of Nursing at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center.
She is responsible for overseeing the direct care of patients through the Registered Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, and Physical Therapy staff. She has been with St. Joseph’s for more than 14 years, including serving as Executive Director of Barrow Neurological Institute. Julie began her healthcare career as an intensive care nurse more than 25 years ago.
Julie became a Registered Nurse through an associate degree program in Bakersfield, Calif. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from California State University at Dominquez Hills and her Master of Science in Nursing at California State University at Bakersfield.
She is a member of the Quality Committee for the Board of Directors of St Joseph’s Hospital, the Arizona Organization of Nurse Executives and the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association’s Donor Network Consortium. Julie is an active volunteer and committee member of the March of Dimes, Phoenix Chapter, and works to raise awareness about premature birth and other birth defects by developing community partnerships and participating in strategic planning and special events.
