Kristina Zimmermann, DNP, RN, is the chief nursing executive officer for Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center and Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Westgate Medical Center.
In her role, Zimmermann is responsible for planning and developing all nursing operations and functions with a collaborative, patient-centered-care focus. She has a strong reputation for clinical expertise and patient care, executive leadership skills and employee development, as well as for her experience in strategic planning and daily hospital operations.
Prior to joining St. Joseph’s, Zimmermann most recently served as vice president and chief nursing officer at John C. Lincoln Medical Center. Under her leadership, the hospital achieved its fourth Magnet designation; substantially improved its patient experience scores; increased employee engagement; decreased nursing turnover; and eliminated agency labor through the development of a multidisciplinary float pool. She also previously served as interim vice president of operations for John C. Lincoln, where she oversaw clinical, ancillary and support services. Prior to joining John C. Lincoln, she worked in Nursing Administration for St. Vincent Hospital and Health System (Ascension) in Indianapolis.
Zimmermann, who is currently working on a master’s degree in healthcare administration, has a doctorate of nursing practice from Old Dominion University; a master’s degree in nursing leadership; and a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She is also a member of several professional organizations, a certified Advanced Nurse Executive and Six Sigma Green Belt, and holds several certifications from the FEMA National Incident Management System.
