DBS is believed to be one of the most exciting and promising areas of modern medicine. Typically used to treat Parkinson’s disease, Barrow is using DBS to improve and restore function in patients with a number of neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, and dystonia.

DBS involves the implantation of an electrode to a target area deep within the brain that is associated with a disorder. A pacemaker sends electrical signals to the brain, alleviating symptoms.
