Every year, more than 1.5 million Americans sustain a head injury. Dr. Javier Cardenas, a neurologist and brain injury expert, recognizes this statistic and specializes in diagnosing and treating traumatic brain injuries (TBI) in children and adults.
“Many patients with TBI’s are underdiagnosed or never treated and struggle with daily activities throughout their lifetime as a result,” says Dr. Cardenas. “We work to successfully treat these patients and help them integrate back into the daily routines.”
TBI is the leading cause of death and disability in children and young adults, and has been called the signature injury of the Iraq war.
