Ross Bremner, MD, PhD

Originally from South Africa, Dr. Bremner has becomone of the nation’s most respected thoracic surgeo Under Dr. Bremner’s leadership, St. Joseph’s has completed more than 170 lung transplant surgeries and has one of the highest one-year survival rates in the nation. In addition to lung transplantation, Dr. Bremner also specializes in the treatment of lung cancer and other lung diseases.

Dr. Bremner is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He completed his medical school training in South Africa at the University of the Witwatersrand where he graduated magna cum laude and received the Harwood Nash Memorial medal for surgery. He then completed his general surgery training at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, during which time he also completed his PhD. Dr. Bremner then went on to complete his cardiothoracic training at USC.
