Nursing and Allied Health Clinical Education Opportunities

St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center collaborates with academic partners to provide clinical education experiences for Dignity Health, Arizona Division. Hands-on clinical experience allows students to receive practical and relevant training that will give them the skills to function at a high level with confidence and compassion.

The student clinical experience process is centralized for Dignity Health, Arizona Division. Under the supervision of the Director of the Learning Institute, the academic student services specialists coordinate the placements for nursing, allied healthcare sciences and advanced practice nurses.

Academic Student Placement

All requests for student placements within an Arizona Dignity Health facility are processed through the Learning Institute. Dignity Health requires all academic partners to utilize the My Clinical Exchange (MCE) system for orienting and preparing students and instructors/faculty  to fulfill Dignity Health’s facility, regulatory, mission, and safety standards/requirements.

Academic Student Placement

The academic institution’s placement coordinator is required to submit a  completed application request for placement with the required documentation forty-five (45) days prior to the start date of the requested rotation. The application and accompanying documents can be emailed to the clinical placement specialist:  [email protected]. Please note, application submission does not guarantee placement.
