Dignity Health is committed to promoting excellence in healthcare education while providing safe patient care. SJHMC collaborates with academic partners to provide clinical education experiences for Dignity Health, Arizona Market.
The student clinical experience process is centralized for Dignity Health, Arizona Market. Under the supervision of the Director of the Learning Institute, the academic student services specialist coordinates the placements for nursing, allied healthcare sciences, advanced practice nurses and physicians.
All requests for student placements within an Arizona Dignity Health facility are processed through the Learning Institute. Dignity Health requires all academic partners to utilize the Online Clinical Orientation (OCO) system for orienting and preparing students and faculty to fulfill Dignity Health’s facility, regulatory, mission, and safety standards/requirements.
Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center (SJHMC) is committed to teaching the next generation of health care practitioners. SJHMC has affiliation agreements with selected academic institutions to offer elective clinical rotations with approved preceptors for advanced nurses and physician assistant students.
Rotation Options
Nurse Practitioner (NP) and physician assistant (PA) clinical rotations with SJHMC providers must be secured through the process of college and university student placement program coordinators networking with the SJHMC student placement specialist. School placement coordinators and individual students are not encouraged to contact SJHMC faculty and staff to secure clinical rotations.
Application Process
Academic institution’s placement coordinator sends the student’s completed application (click here for an application) with the required documentation forty-five (45) days prior to the start date of the rotation.
