Dr. Das is the Administrative Medical Director of the Center for Digestive Health at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center.
Dr. Das earned his medical degree at Silchar Medical College, Silchar, India. He completed his postgraduate education at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research, Chandigarh, India, and at State University of New York at Stonybrook, and his fellowship in gastroentrerology at Case Western University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. He then completed an advanced therapeutic endoscopy fellowship in endoscopic ultrasonography, also at Case Western University.
Prior to joining Dignity Health, Dr. Das co-founded Arizona Center for Digestive Health. He has held numerous academic appointments, including Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, Associate Chair of the Department of Medicine at Mayo Clinic, Scottsdale, and Affiliate Professor of Medicine, Creighton University, Omaha, NE. He is a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology (FACG) and the American Society for Gastrointestinal
Dr. Das has authored or co-authored more than 350 original research publications, abstracts and presentations in the areas of advanced endoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound, cancer outcomes and health disparities and is a regular faculty at many national and international conferences. His clinical expertise Center for Digestive Health Administrative Medical Director includes pancreatobiliary disorders, gastrointestinal cancer, esophageal diseases, gastrointestinal bleeding, colon cancer screening and health care outcomes.
