Chirag Patel, MD, FACS is a thoracic surgeon with the Norton Thoracic Institute. His hospital affiliations include Chandler Regional Hospital, Mercy Gilbert Medical Center and St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. Dr. Patel is board certified in both cardiothoracic and general surgery.

Dr. Patel is the Director of Robotic Thoracic Surgery in the East Valley and specializes in the treatment of lung, esophageal and gastric cancers. His other interests include tracheal and airway disorders, esophageal disease and lung transplantation. Dr. Patel’s robotic program has been recognized as a case observation site to mentor and teach new aspiring robotic thoracic surgeons from across the country. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Patel earned his medical degree from the University of Arizona in Tucson. He then completed his residency in general surgery at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix. Dr. Patel went on to complete his fellowship training in cardiothoracic surgery at Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University in St. Louis.
