Dirk Steven Gesink, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon in the Orthopedic Department at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center. He is a board-certified physician with the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.
Dr. Gesink specializes in orthopedic trauma surgery, including surgery of the pelvis, acetabulum, foot and ankle. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society.
Dr. Gesink received his medical degree in 1988 from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. He completed his residency, a surgical internship and a research fellowship at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Gesink subsequently completed an Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. He has also received additional training in orthopedic surgery of the foot and ankle.
