Timothy Schaub, MD, is a hand surgeon in the Orthopedics Department at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. He is one of the few hand surgeons in the valley board certified by both the American Board of Surgery and American Board of Plastic Surgery with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Hand Surgery.
Dr. Schaub’s expertise includes:
- Upper extremity trauma reconstruction
- Hand, wrist and forearm fractures
- Congenital hand surgery
- Plastic and reconstructive surgery
- Peripheral nerve injuries
- Facial fractures
- Mohs reconstruction
Dr. Schaub has been in practice in the valley since 2010 during which time he has garnered extensive experience in treating complex upper extremity injuries. He is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery, American Society for Surgery of the Hand, American Association of Hand Surgery, and the International Microsurgery Simulation Society.
Dr. Schaub has been the recipient of multiple teaching awards. He has also authored book chapters and articles in the areas of hand surgery, plastic surgery and vascular surgery. He has also presented his research at national meetings of the American Society of Plastic Surgery and American Society for Surgery of the Hand. He is also a physician for Children’s Rehabilitative Services and the Epidermolysis Bullosa Clinic at Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Schaub received his medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He completed a general surgery residency at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where he was chief resident. He then completed a plastic surgery residency and hand and microsurgery fellowship from the UT Southwestern Department of Plastic Surgery in Dallas.
