John Pawloski, MD, PhD


John R. Pawloski, MD, PhD  is the Section Leader for Malignant Hematology and the Program Director for Transplant and Cellular Therapy at The University of Arizona Cancer Center at Dignity Health, and is the Director of Hematology at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center.

Dr. Pawloski’s expertise includes: leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, cellular and immunotherapy. He is board certified in hematology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) and the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). He is a member of the American Society of Hematology (ASH), American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplant (ASBMT), European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT), and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).

Dr. Pawloski received his combined medical (MD) and doctoral (PhD) degrees from St. Louis University School of Medicine. He completed his internship, residency, and hematology fellowship training at Duke University Medical Center, and was an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Duke for six years, where he was awarded over $1 million in private and public research funding. He was then promoted to Associate Professor of Medicine at Drexel University School of Medicine in Pittsburgh, PA. He subsequently built the stem cell transplant program at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Atlanta, GA, prior to joining Dignity Health.
