William Cance, MD, is the Deputy Director, as well as a surgical oncologist and endocrine surgeon at The University of Arizona Cancer Center at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. He also holds the position of Professor, Department of Interdisciplinary Oncology and Professor, Department of Surgery for the University of Arizona, College of Medicine, Phoenix.
Dr. Cance’s expertise includes thyroid cancer, parathyroid disease, GI cancer, and he is board certified in general surgery. He is past President of the Society of Surgical Oncology. Dr. Cance is also a member of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons, and the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Cance received his medical degree from Duke University. He completed his residency in general surgery at Barnes Hospital/Washington University School of Medicine and a fellowship in surgical oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Special interests include thyroid and parathyroid disease, sarcoma and advanced GI malignancies.
