In addition to clinical care, NTI is committed to research and education. The Norton Thoracic Research Laboratory on the campus of St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center opened in July of 2015, and is dedicated to research of esophageal and cardiac disease, lung cancer and cancer immunology, and transplant immunology. Norton Thoracic Institute’s physicians teach and mentor medical students and surgical residents rotating on their service.

Norton Thoracic Institute is recognized by several national lung organizations:
