Babies Are Our Business
At Bakersfield Memorial, we work closely with you to make giving birth here safe and comfortable. We feature large, modern birthing suites where state-of-the-art equipment is balanced with home-like features, including a comfortable place for dad or other family members to rest. Caring for a newborn can be overwhelming, so we place an emphasis on parenting classes and education. Whether you’re a first time mom or a mother of many, our nurses work individually with you teaching baby care, breastfeeding and providing on-going support to ensure success.
When Your Baby Needs Extra Care
If your baby is born prematurely or with a serious illness, we have a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) just steps away. There, specially trained NICU doctors and nurses use state-of-the-art equipment to care for every need of the tiniest of newborns. Take a tour of our facility on 34th Street to see for yourself what a difference Bakersfield Memorial can make when you’re giving birth. Find out for yourself why our baby program is known as Miracles on 34th Street.
