Scott W. Mosser, MD - Plastic Surgery
Dr. Mosser is a board certified plastic surgeon who began his career in Medicine as a Fulbright Scholar to Ecuador, where he spent a year investigating the Ecuadorian healthcare system. He is a graduate of Baylor College of Medicine (Houston, TX) and Case Western Reserve University (Cleveland, OH), where he completed his internship and six years of comprehensive general and plastic surgery training. This was followed with a year-long fellowship dedicated to San Francisco cosmetic surgery where he perfected his techniques as a facial and whole body cosmetic surgeon.
Michael H. Safir, MD - Urology/Plastic Surgery
Dr. Safir is a board certified urologist, urological surgeon, and author. He received his medical degree from Northwestern and completed his residency in urology at the McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University. He completed a fellowship in neuro-urology and reconstructive surgery from UCLA and, a fellowship in trauma and reconstructive urology from UCSF. Dr. Safir specializes in both clitoralplasty and vaginalplasty.
Jordan Deschamp-Braly, MD - Plastic Surgery
Dr. Deschamp-Braly is a board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in several types of craniofacial reconstruction including: major reconstruction/cranial approach, malocclusion, mandibular osteotomy for class III, and maxillary osteotomy. Dr. Deschamp-Braly graduated from University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and completed his residency and internship at University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Dr. Deschamp-Braly completed his fellowship in craniofacial surgery from the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin and a fellowship in orthognathic/maxillofacial surgery University Hospital Zurich.
Katherine Yung, MD - Otolaryngology
Dr. Katherine Yung specializes in the care of the professional voice, transgender voice, as well as voice, swallowing, and airway disorders. Dr. Yung and her team carefully evaluate each patient, perform the necessary testing, diagnose, and treat every patient in a personalized, holistic approach. Her office, San Francisco Voice and Swallowing, offers state of the art testing for laryngeal disorders, behavioral treatment for voice and swallowing complaints, office based laryngeal surgery, minimally invasive microlaryngeal surgery, open laryngeal framework surgery, gender-affirming voice and speech therapy, and gender-affirming voice and laryngeal surgery.
Mang Chen, MD - Urology
Mang Chen is a reconstructive urologist who specializes in genitourinary surgeries for transmasculine individuals. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh, School of Medicine and completed a fellowship in urologic trauma and reconstruction in Detroit, returning to Pittsburgh thereafter to join the faculty as an assistant professor of reconstructive urology. After 3 years in Pittsburgh, he returned home to California to perform gender-related genitourinary surgeries, including phalloplasty (performed with microsurgeon), metoidioplasty, glansplasty, monsplasty, scrotoplasty, urethroplasty, fistula repair, testicular and penile implants, phallus reconstruction, scrotal reconstruction and related procedures.
Thomas Satterwhite, MD - Plastic Surgery
Dr. Satterwhite is a board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery. He attended the Stanford University School of Medicine and completed his residency in plastic surgery. He completed his fellowship in craniofacial surgery from the Miami Children's Hospital. Dr. Satterwhite has performed gender confirmation surgery in the Bay Area since 2014. His practice is devoted exclusively to serving the transgender and gender expansive community. He specializes in vaginoplasty, facial feminization surgery, breast augmentation, body contouring, and mastectomy (“top surgery”).
Bauback Safa, MD - Plastic Surgery
Dr. Safa is a board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in reconstructive microsurgeon and hand surgeon. He graduated from the University of Virginia as an Echols Scholar and then obtained his MD from Stanford University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Stanford, followed by a fellowship in microsurgery and hand surgery at The Buncke Clinic located in San Francisco. Dr. Safa is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at Stanford and UCSF.
Walter Lin, MD - Plastic Surgery
Dr. Lin is a board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in reconstructive microsurgery and hand surgery. Dr. Lin completed his undergrad at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Neuroscience and completed medical school at the Health Sciences & Technology program from Harvard Medical School. He then attended UCSF for his residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery, followed by a fellowship in hand, microvascular, and transgender surgery at The Buncke Clinic in San Francisco.
Heidi Wittenberg, MD - Gynecology
Dr. Wittenberg is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, and in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery. She specializes in urogynecology and reconstructive pelvic surgery, working exclusively with trans patients. Dr. Wittenberg received her Bachelors in Genetics from the University of California, Berkeley. She has a Masters Degree in Applied Physiology and a Medical Degree from the Chicago Medical School. She was recruited to John Hopkins for residency. She was in the vanguard of certified Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery, then she went on to do further training after 20 years of practice in Gender Realignment Surgery. She is devoted to helping people have the anatomy with which they should have been born.
