We want to assure the community that Sequoia Hospital is closely monitoring all developments with COVID-19 and we are prepared to identify, isolate, and treat any potential patient who seeks care at our facility. We are in contact with local and state health officials as well as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and our staff is following the latest guidance from these public health agencies. Sequoia Hospital has the supplies and equipment needed to effectively manage the care of any suspected or confirmed COVID-19 patients and we are continuously assessing the volume of supplies at our hospital.
Here are some important steps we’ve taken to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our community:>/p>
Our cafeteria is closed.
All classes and support groups at the Sequoia Health and Wellness Center are postponed until further notice. Cardiac rehabilitation and pulmonary rehabilitation programs are also suspended until further notice. Patients will be notified when these programs resume.
If you wish to make a donation of supplies or equipment, please note that we can only accept the items listed below at this time. Our safety and infection control experts will review and inspect the items before they can be used.

How to drop off a donation: Sequoia Hospital is located at 170 Alameda de las Pulgas in Redwood City, CA. For donation drop off, access the hospital main entrance off of Whipple Avenue (just after crossing Alameda de las Pulgas). Donation bins are located near the main lobby entrance doors. Donation hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Anyone seeking care at Sequoia must enter through the main lobby or the Emergency Department. All other entrances are closed.
In accordance with our visitor policy, no deliveries of any kind will be permitted until further notice.
Please remember that photos and video of any kind are strictly prohibited in patient care areas.
Non-emergency surgeries are cancelled until further notice. Your physician will contact you to reschedule your procedure. Please call your physician’s office with any questions.
We’re offering free virtual care visits from the convenience and safety of your own home for anyone exhibiting mild COVID-19 symptoms such as low-grade fever, cough, or respiratory problems. Visit dignityhealth.org/COVID19-virtual-care and enter code COVID19 when requesting care. If your symptoms are severe such as high fever, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, call 911, or visit your nearest ER.
Effective March 14, 2020, visitors will not be permitted at Sequoia Hospital. In our Birth Center, one labor and delivery partner will be permitted. To reach a patient at Sequoia, please call 650.369.5811. Patients are encouraged to take advantage of the hospital’s free Wi-Fi and use personal devices to stay in touch with family and friends during this time. We apologize for any inconvenience.
