Hello Humankindness Student Ambassador Program
The St. Joseph’s Hospital Family Medicine training program welcomed our first class of six residents in Summer 2018. St. Joseph’s is a busy urban hospital in Stockton, CA. The hospital has over 300 beds, a busy ICU, and hosts delivery of over 3,000 babies each year. Family medicine residents’ primary outpatient experience is at nearby Community Medical Centers – Channel, serving the diverse patient population of the greater Stockton area. Residents also will have the opportunity to train at other area clinics and hospitals. The program provides an excellent and diverse family medicine training environment in the heart of California’s Central Valley.
The St. Joseph’s Family Medicine Residency Program is part of a multi-year effort to expand graduate medical education at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine programs started in 2018, and Internal Medicine and OB/GYN residents are pending accreditation. One of the hallmarks of the St. Joseph’s Family Medicine Residency Program is collaboration among different specialties with unique learning opportunities for residents, research projects, and benefits to patient care.
Residents will find a welcoming and caring family of faculty and staff at St. Joseph’s Medical Center. The unique combination of busy urban hospital surrounded by a relatively rural and under-served community yields excellent patient care experiences. Please consider pursuing your family medicine training with our program!
