To positively impact the health and well-being of a culturally diverse community by working to reduce health disparities through excellent Family Medicine academic and clinical education, research, leadership and community service.

Mission Statement

St. Joseph's Family Medicine Residency Program's mission is to train family medicine physicians who safely and competently provide the highest quality of care for the community they serve in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.

Goals and Objectives

We aim to achieve the goal of excellent patient care by:

  • Providing the highest quality, patient-centered, cost-effective innovative care to a culturally diverse, medically underserved population.

  • Creating collaborative, patient-physician therapeutic relationships that promote the health and well-being of all patients in the community regardless of age, sex, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity or disability.

  • Promoting research and scholarship to build medical knowledge important for evidence-based education and clinical practice with a specific focus on improving disparate health care.

  • Developing and maintaining an excellent Family Medicine resident education curriculum that more than adequately trains residents, medical students and provides academic scholarship for all faculty.
