If your baby was exposed to drugs like opiates while you were pregnant, he or she may start to experience symptoms as soon as 24 to 48 hours after birth. We now have a new and different approach called Eat, Sleep, Console.

Newsweek announced Marian Regional Medical Center was among the 161 hospitals nationwide that received the prestigious Best Maternity Hospitals 2022. The hospital is among only 32 in California to be recognized. The distinction identifies facilities that have excelled in providing care to mothers, newborns and their families, as verified by the 2020 Leapfrog Hospital Survey. 

Hospitals named as a Best Maternity Care Hospital have fully met The Leapfrog Group’s standards for maternity care on evidence-based, nationally standardized metrics. The tough standards have been established by Leapfrog’s national expert panel. This includes lower rates of early elective delivery, NTSV C-section, and episiotomy, as well as compliance with process measures including newborn bilirubin screening prior to discharge and blood clot prevention techniques for mothers delivering via C-section.
