Student Poster Design Competition

In honor of our 10th Annual St. John’s Breast Symposium, the Integrated Breast Center (IBC) at St. John’s wants to see your design ideas for a promotional poster for this year’s symposium themed, “CELEBRATE THE JOURNEY”. The Breast Symposium will be on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at the Serra Center in Camarillo. 

Who is Eligible? 

All high school students in Ventura County.

Your Artwork Must Include

  1. A poster design on a 11ʺx 17ʺ piece of paper based on this year’s theme, “Celebrate the Journey”. 
  2. On the back of the poster, please include: Your name, your grade, your parent’s name and phone number, and the name of your high school.

By submitting your artwork, you grant Dignity Health St. John’s Hospitals the right to display your artwork at the event on marketing materials, and to modify artwork as necessary. One winner will be selected and notified in June. The winner will be invited to attend the 10th Annual St. John’s Breast Symposium. Other top entries will also be displayed at the symposium. 

The Annual St. John’s Breast Symposium is a nationally recognized event hosted by the Integrated Breast Center at St. Johns. It started as a small event of 30 people and has grown in attendance to over 250 people. The event features the latest information on general breast health and wellness, prevention, treatment, reconstruction and research on breast cancer featuring multidisciplinary panels of experts and patients with a robust question and answer period and breakout sessions. The expo features exhibits from boutique vendors, health education, and self-care. 

The Integrated Breast Center at St. John’s is a nationally accredited breast center offering a multidisciplinary team approach to breast cancer and breast health. The team includes, oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, breast surgeons, plastic surgeons, clinical trials, genetics, dietitian, social work, therapists, a nurse navigator, and support staff. The program features a weekly breast conference where patients’ cases are reviewed together by the team to provide personalized patient-specific multidisciplinary recommendations. The Integrated Breast Center has received numerous national and local awards including recognition from the Avon Foundation, the Plastic Surgery Foundation, Sientra, Dignity Health, and the Meadowlark Service League.
