Lamaze classes focus on teaching couples non-medical strategies for the birth experience, including positioning, massage, and breathing. Their goal is to help manage the emotional and physical experience of labor and delivery. Lamaze classes are just one type of prenatal classes in addition to breastfeeding support and parenting classes.
Sign up for pregnancy and childbirth classes at Baby-Friendly Dignity Health - St. Rose Dominican online or by calling 702.616.4900. Find an obstetrician who recommends Lamaze classes in Las Vegas and Henderson, NV. If you’re worried about your delivery day, schedule a tour of our birth centers so you know what to expect.

Lamaze classes celebrate birth as a natural, normal process. Their goal is to help pregnant women feel more confident in their ability to give birth.
Lamaze classes are a great choice for a woman or couple who wants to have a natural birth. Women who take Lamaze classes still have the option to have an epidural during delivery.
All Lamaze classes are taught by a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator. They typically include six to 12 pregnant women and their support partners, plus the instructor. Classes meet over a period of four to eight weeks, for one to three hours at a time. In total you will receive 12 hours of Lamaze education.
In class, pregnant women and couples learn pain relief techniques, coping strategies, and practice labor positions. This is also a good time to ask any questions about labor and birth.
While they can’t replicate the experience of learning face-to-face with other couples, online classes are a good option for women who are unable to attend an in-person class because they are on bedrest or can’t attend for another reason. Online Lamaze classes take about an hour to complete and are self-paced modules.
