Level III NICU at St. Rose Dominican: What Do They Mean For You?

We are here to support you - the parents - during your baby's stay in the NICU. We will explain treatment options and answer any questions you have.

Our Siena Campus has a Level III NICU, the highest designation available in southern Nevada. The level numbers of NICUs indicate the type of care our staff can provide for premature or critically ill newborns. The care your baby needs, and the NICU level he or she will need, depends on a few factors:

  • Severity of the condition your baby is born with
  • Your baby's gestational age (the number of weeks pregnant the mother was at the time of birth)

Level III NICUs care for those babies who need the most advanced treatments. At St. Rose Dominican, we are able to care for critically ill newborns who are premature or who have:

  • Problems with breathing
  • Heart conditions
  • Birth defects

Additionally, St. Rose Dominican, Siena Hospital's Level III NICU, we can provide donor human milk to premature or medically fragile babies while mom waits for her own milk to come in.
