Food Bank

Due to COVID-19, we are not accepting any new participants into our Senior Brown Bag Program and Senior Box Program.

We are accepting participants for our Emergency Food and Commodity Distributions. See below for more information.

As the designated Food Bank for Shasta County, we are a member of Feeding America, the largest Food Bank in the United States. This enables us to share with community food lockers. Included in the programs housed by our Food Bank are the Senior Brown Bag Program, Senior Box Program, Surplus Donated Food, and TEFAP - The Emergency Food Assistance Program (USDA COMMODITIES).

Senior Brown Bag Program

The Brown Bag Program serves low-income seniors aged 60 or older. Each month bags of nutritious food are distributed at eight distribution sites located throughout Shasta County.

Brown Bag Schedule

Senior Box Program

The Senior Box (CSFP) Program is available to seniors aged 60 or older who meet income guidelines.

Qualified seniors may pick up once per month. Please call the Food Bank for distribution dates & times.

Surplus Donated Food

Qualified low-income families may receive this assistance once a month. Distributions are held the first and third Friday of the month from 8 – 9 a.m. only at the Food Bank located within our main facility at 100 Mercy Oaks Drive in Redding.

TEFAP - Emergency Food Assistance Program

Government surplus commodities are distributed on a monthly basis to low-income families and individuals throughout Shasta County.
