St. Elizabeth Community Hospital Ranks Top In The Nation For Patient Safety

St. Elizabeth Community Hospital has been recognized as one of the leading hospitals in the nation that make patient safety a top priority, ranking in the top 10 percent. St. Elizabeth is a recipient of Healthgrades 2019 Patient Safety Excellence Award.

“This award is the result of hard work and dedication. Patient safety is always a top priority for us here at St. Elizabeth Community Hospital and we will continue to provide high quality care to the communities here in the North State. We are proud of our staff and medical providers for achieving this honor,” said Jordan Wright, St. Elizabeth Community Hospital President.

Patient safety measures how well a hospital prevents injuries, infections, and other serious conditions based on 14 serious, potentially preventable adverse events. The Healthgrades 2019 Patient Safety Excellence Award recognizes hospitals that have the lowest occurrences of those 14 preventable patient safety events. On average, 127,667 patient safety events could have been avoided if all hospitals performed similarly to award recipients on each of the 14 patient safety indicators, according to Healthgrades.
