The Standards of Excellence survey by California Association of Physician Groups (CAPG)** ranks medical groups on their commitment to outstanding quality care. Domains measured include care management practices, health information technology, accountability and transparency, patient-centered care, group support of advanced primary care, and administrative and financial capability. Mercy Medical Group is a repeat winner, receiving the highest rankings three years in a row. This award recognizes our commitment to delivering a better patient experience, better population health, and better overall affordability.
2014 Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA) Excellence in Healthcare Award
To earn the Excellence in Healthcare Award from Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA)*, Mercy Medical Group ranked in the top 50 percent of organizations in clinical quality, patient experience, and total cost of care. Out of nearly 200 physician organizations – representing approximately 35,000 physicians who provide care for about 9 million Commercial HMO/POS members – only 11 achieved this honor in 2014.
Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Certification for Internal Medicine – Midtown & Family Practice – Folsom
We’re proud to be recognized as a Level 3 Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) by The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). Level 3 is the highest level of achievement recognized by the NCQA. The PCMH designation elevates high-quality care by emphasizing access, health information technology, and coordinated care focused on patients. In other words, we have the tools, systems and resources in place to provide patients with the right care at the right time.
NCQA standards aligned with the joint principles of the Patient-Centered Medical Home established with the American College of Physicians, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Osteopathic Association.
Right Care Initiative Bronze Awards*** from the California Department of Managed Health Care
These awards are given annually to California health plans and medical groups who meet clinical performance standards for controlling blood pressure, blood sugar and/or cholesterol. It reflects our dedication to ongoing care for our patients to help prevent long-term complications and reduce overall health care costs for our patients. Mercy Medical Group was the only medical group in the Sacramento region to receive a 2015 Bronze Award for controlling blood sugar in patients with diabetes.
2015 Medicare Advantage 4.5 Star Award & Most Improved Award (Based on 2014 Measurement Year)
Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA)* uses a subset of 13 clinical measures to award Medicare Advantage star ratings (ranging from breast and colorectal cancer screenings to eye exams and blood sugar control for patients with diabetes to managing osteoporosis in women with a previous fracture to appropriate medication management). They also use these ratings to report publicly on quality of care for Medicare beneficiaries selecting Medicare Advantage plans and to recognize high-performing physician organizations. This award recognizes our commitment to quality of care for our Medicare Advantage beneficiaries.
2014 Integrated Health Care Association (IHA) Quality Performer
For the third time in five years Mercy Medical Group has been recognized by Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA)* based on performance related to meaningful use of health information technology, patient experience, and clinical measures including prevention as well as priority conditions such as cardiovascular, diabetes, musculoskeletal, and respiratory. This award is a direct reflection of our commitment to our patients and delivering compassionate care of the highest quality to help our patients achieve the best health they can.
*IHA: A nonprofit statewide leadership group promoting quality improvement, accountability and affordable health care in California.
**CAPG: The largest physician association in the country including more than 180 groups and independent practices across 29 states.
