Mercy Medical Group is one of just 28 physician organizations statewide to receive the 2019 Excellence in Healthcare Award from the Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA). This honor recognizes physician organizations that perform in the top 50 percent in three major areas: clinical quality, patient experience, and total cost of care.
Lisa Adamek, Geriatric Nurse Practitioner, Receives ANCC Award
Lisa Adamek, GNP, with Mercy Medical Group, has been honored by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a 2019 Certified Nurse Award recipient. Every year the ANCC recognizes certified nurses for their significant contributions to different fields of practice, citing Adamek’s extensive work in developing and managing a home-based primary care program for the geriatric population in Sacramento.
More Than 100 Mercy Medical Group & Woodland Clinic Medical Group Physicians Named ‘Top Docs’
Sacramento Magazine’s annual Top Docs list is based on peer review, complied by third-party firm Professional Research Services. Thousands of doctors from throughout the region, representing various health systems and medical groups, complete the surveys to nominate colleague whom they regard as the best in their specialties.
Mercy Medical Group and Woodland Clinic Medical Group Earn National Recognition
Both Mercy Medical Group and Woodland Clinic Medical Group have been awarded Elite Status from America's Physician Groups (APG), the nation's leading professional association for accountable physician groups. Both medical groups are two of just 81 organizations nationally to achieve Elite Status (the highest recognition) in 2019. This is the seventh year in a row that both medical groups received APG recognition.
Mercy Medical Group Honored for Achievements in Diabetes Care and Commitment to Health Care Quality
As a part of the campaign, Mercy Medical Group implemented best practices to improve the quality of diabetes care and reported results for diabetes patients on a variety of measures, including blood sugar control, blood pressure control, lipid management, and testing for kidney disease.
Primary Care Clinics Earn National Recognition for Patient-Centered Care
Mercy Medical Group and Woodland Clinic Medical Group have both received the highest level of achievement for outstanding primary care from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). The groups were awarded Level 3 Patient-Centered Medical Homes (PCMH) recognition.
Mercy Medical Group Earns National Recognition for Efforts Aimed at Reducing Heart Attacks and Strokes
The American Heart Association (AHA) and the American Medical Association (AMA) have recognized Mercy Medical Group for its commitment to reducing the number of patients who have heart attacks and strokes each year. Mercy Medical Group is among a group of first-time recipients to receive AHA and AMA’s "Target: BP Recognition Program" award.

The Standards of Excellence survey by California Association of Physician Groups (CAPG)** ranks medical groups on their commitment to outstanding quality care. Domains measured include care management practices, health information technology, accountability and transparency, patient-centered care, group support of advanced primary care, and administrative and financial capability. Mercy Medical Group is a repeat winner, receiving the highest rankings three years in a row. This award recognizes our commitment to delivering a better patient experience, better population health, and better overall affordability.
2014 Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA) Excellence in Healthcare Award
To earn the Excellence in Healthcare Award from Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA)*, Mercy Medical Group ranked in the top 50 percent of organizations in clinical quality, patient experience, and total cost of care. Out of nearly 200 physician organizations – representing approximately 35,000 physicians who provide care for about 9 million Commercial HMO/POS members – only 11 achieved this honor in 2014.
Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Certification for Internal Medicine – Midtown & Family Practice – Folsom
We’re proud to be recognized as a Level 3 Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) by The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). Level 3 is the highest level of achievement recognized by the NCQA. The PCMH designation elevates high-quality care by emphasizing access, health information technology, and coordinated care focused on patients. In other words, we have the tools, systems and resources in place to provide patients with the right care at the right time.
NCQA standards aligned with the joint principles of the Patient-Centered Medical Home established with the American College of Physicians, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Osteopathic Association.
Right Care Initiative Bronze Awards*** from the California Department of Managed Health Care
These awards are given annually to California health plans and medical groups who meet clinical performance standards for controlling blood pressure, blood sugar and/or cholesterol. It reflects our dedication to ongoing care for our patients to help prevent long-term complications and reduce overall health care costs for our patients. Mercy Medical Group was the only medical group in the Sacramento region to receive a 2015 Bronze Award for controlling blood sugar in patients with diabetes.
2015 Medicare Advantage 4.5 Star Award & Most Improved Award (Based on 2014 Measurement Year)
Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA)* uses a subset of 13 clinical measures to award Medicare Advantage star ratings (ranging from breast and colorectal cancer screenings to eye exams and blood sugar control for patients with diabetes to managing osteoporosis in women with a previous fracture to appropriate medication management). They also use these ratings to report publicly on quality of care for Medicare beneficiaries selecting Medicare Advantage plans and to recognize high-performing physician organizations. This award recognizes our commitment to quality of care for our Medicare Advantage beneficiaries.
2014 Integrated Health Care Association (IHA) Quality Performer
For the third time in five years Mercy Medical Group has been recognized by Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA)* based on performance related to meaningful use of health information technology, patient experience, and clinical measures including prevention as well as priority conditions such as cardiovascular, diabetes, musculoskeletal, and respiratory. This award is a direct reflection of our commitment to our patients and delivering compassionate care of the highest quality to help our patients achieve the best health they can.
