What are the Warning Signs?

Women are often in charge of making everyone around them healthy, but oftentimes don’t take the steps or recognize warning signs with their own health. Most women don’t know that the signs of heart disease in women are different than in men.

Along with the better-known signs of heart disease, including pressure or squeezing in your chest, and soreness in one of both arms, the unique warning signs for heart disease in women include:

  • Neck, jaw, shoulder or upper back pain
  • Shortness of breath
  • Nausea
  • Abdominal pain or heartburn
  • Sweating and dizziness
  • Unusual fatigue

Mercy Medical Group’s team of female cardiologists are committed to working with your primary care group to help reduce your risk of heart disease by identifying warning signs of heart disease, and formulating a plan to keep your heart healthy.
